Health Goal: Go Natural Do you use a lot of medications in your day-to-day life? If so, this health goal is for you. This week’s goal: Increase your use of natural medicines and medical products, and decrease your dependency on Western medicine. There are so many ways to do this!
Start with your supplements. Are you using natural supplements? Few people know where their supplements truly come from. For example, most over-the-counter Vitamin D is manufactured synthetically from lanolin, derived from lamb’s wool. The good news is, there are other products on the market. If you haven't already heard of some, try Touchstone Essentials. Touchstone derives its Vitamin D from mushrooms. The products are all-natural, which is a much better way to get your vitamins and minerals.
Do you have a headache? Instead of reaching for the aspirin bottle, try rubbing peppermint oil on your temples or taking a hot bath for relaxation. These small things can make a world of difference for your body. Just pick up the information pamphlets that come with your medications to see some of the warnings and side effects. You may be as shocked as we were!
So this week, try to go natural. Of course, if you are taking doctor prescribed medicine, do not change anything without a doctor’s approval. But look into the products you use on a regular basis and ask yourself: Is there a more natural alternative for me?
