Thank a Mailman #bebetter52
An inscription found on the General Post Office in New York City reads, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
No matter what the circumstances of the day are, you can always count on your mail to be in your mailbox, and that is something to be appreciative of.
This week’s #bebetter52 challenge is to thank a mailman. February 4 marks the “unofficial” national holiday Thank a Mailman Day, and we challenge you to show your mailman how grateful you are for his or her services.
Here are some fun ways you can thank your mailman:
- Write a thank-you note and put it in your mailbox.
- Bake him or her cookies.
- Verbally thank your postal carrier, and ask about his or her day.
- Write a thank-you poem.
Saying “thank you” is a sometimes forgotten way to make someone feel valued. Many times, it can make a person’s entire day. According to thankyoudiva.com, hearing a sincere “thank you” can give someone just the motivation needed to continue the good he or she is doing for the world. Your mail carrier is a significant part of your daily life, and you never know how simply saying “thank you” could benefit that individual!
