Talk to Stangers #bebetter52
In a culture that is consumed with technology, it is easy to walk around with our faces buried in our phones. Whether it’s waiting in line for morning coffee or walking down the street, our initial reaction is to reach for our phones and avoid eye contact with strangers. We can become so consumed with our phones and social media that we miss out on talking those around us.
This week’s #bebetter52 challenge is to put down your electronics and interact with those around you. Start a conversation with the barista during your morning coffee run or the person next to you in line at the grocery store. It’s amazing what you can learn about people when you get out of your comfort zone and talk to strangers.
Life can get busy and we can get so caught up in our routines that we can forget each person we pass has their own life just as complex as our own. This week, focus on being more aware of those around you and starting conversations when you can. You will be surprised by how many opportunities you’ll have to talk to others if you try.
There are so many incredible people in this world that you haven’t met yet. It’s time to take a step outside your comfort zone and meet new people. You will be surprised what you can find out about a person from a simple conversation.
